WE ARE ALL FLOATING ATOMS

Atom in Flux (2019) is an art website to explore the contemporary relationship between art and individuals. The word ‘atom’ originated from a Greek philosophical concept – Atomism (Greek ἄτομον: "uncuttable" and "indivisible").  Ancient Greek atomists theorized that nature consists of two fundamental principles: atom and void. They believed philosophical atoms come in an infinite variety of shapes and sizes, each indestructible, immutable, and surrounded by a void where they collide with the others or hook together forming a cluster. Based on this idea, Atom in Flux tends to extend the meaning of individuality in contemporary society. With the mobility expanding to all social classes, people's fluid identities start to break our existing social norms.
